Overview
Mission Statement
At Cedar Park Christian School we believe that the basis of all teaching is God and His Word. Our desire is that each student would accept Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior. A goal of our mission is to nurture and train each child so that they will grow in godliness of character and action.
CPCS addresses educational practices from a Christian perspective by offering its students the opportunity to understand themselves and the world around them from a Christian world view. Some of this education will be formal (Chapel, Bible classes and studies, counseling) and some will occur as the faculty and students interact in the normal flow of school activity. The goal is to facilitate the development of the school: spiritually, academically, physically, socially and emotionally. The school employs administration, faculty and staff who serve as role models in their Christian walk, and who are maturing both professionally and in their Christian faith. |
|
In training children to serve the Lord, CPCS makes a strong statement for high academic and social standards of conduct. We believe that the school is an extension of the home, and we expect parents to support the goals of the school as outlined in the Parental Commitment section of the CPCS Handbook for Parents and Students.

Overview
A critical aspect of a Christian education is that students learn to view life from a Christian perspective rather than a secular one.
| Education is never neutral, just as teachers never are. The curriculum and the teachers at Cedar Park Christian Schools are decidedly different from public schools in that Christian Truth is the basis of all courses. Just as secular schools omit Christian philosophy, Cedar Park works at integrating Christian perspectives and philosophy into each course. Secular schools assert that teachers' personal values and life-styles have little influence on students, while Cedar Park 's teachers see themselves as definite Christian models to students. |

Cedar Park does not profess to be the answer for every child and family. In a society that offers a plethora of choices to consumers, Cedar Park 's intent is to provide the highest quality of academic programs in a decidedly loving, encouraging, positive Christian setting. Cedar Park does not take the place of parents or the church. This is a central issue because the role of any educational institution, while providing excellent academics, should be to reinforce family and church values, not usurp their authority.
Cedar Park Christian Schools is an institution where "Changed Lives are Changing Lives." This phrase expresses the essential element of what our mission is.

History of Cedar Park Christian School
The history of Cedar Park Christian Schools is a heritage of growth and vision. In 1979 Pastor Joe Fuiten became pastor of Cedar Park Assembly of God and his vision has served as a guidepost for the last several decades. Dr. Fuiten’s renaissance vision of successfully influencing the Puget Sound region with the gospel of Jesus Christ through a diversity of community ministries, including Cedar Park Christian Schools, is viewed be many church leaders throughout the United States as a model for transforming churches for the future.
Cedar Park Christian School was opened in March of 1982 with five pre-school students , as a ministry of Cedar Park Assembly of God. In 1983, the church purchased eleven acres near I -405 in Bothell, WA and soon a new facility which seats 1,200 people was completed, with additional educational space for the Christian school. Over the next decade additional educational facilities were constructed including five new buildings and an additional 45,000 square feet. A new era for Cedar Park began in 1997 with the inaugural graduating class. Subsequently, a donation provided the church with an additional nineteen acres directly south of the present location which enabled construction a new high school facility, which opened in February, 2005.
In 2001, Cedar Park joined with Neighborhood Assembly of God in Bellevue, WA to administrate their existing school, (Neighborhood Christian School). The following year, Cedar Park was also offered the opportunity to acquire Northwest Christian School in Everett WA, (Cedar Park Christian school, Everett), In 2007 Cedar Park Christian Schools was asked by the North Sound Christian School Board to purchase and administrate their school. The acquisition of North Sound Christian effectively makes Cedar Park Christian Schools one of the largest evangelical Christian School Districts’ in North America. Throughout the past fifteen years, enrollment has grown an average of 120 students per year, to over 2,300 in preschool through twelfth grade on six campuses.
Cedar Park Christian’s plans are to continue expanding as the Lord leads and to build a network of schools. The goal is to create an environment that fosters healthy, Christian interpersonal relationships between students, parents, and school staff. The teaching staff at Cedar Park understands positive, successful students are a product of positive, successful relationships with Christ. The critical aspect of any young person’s education should be teaching the need for Christ in one’s life and importance of living with purpose and meaning. Instruction, mentoring, inspiration, and positive interpersonal relationships between teachers and students then serve a meaningful purpose. |

Cedar Park Christian offers an educational program for parents who are searching for Christian schools that produce academically superior students and who also understand the world around them from a distinctly Christian worldview. The Christian educational paradigm is changing and families are now searching for quality Christian programs which offer a multitude of resources that larger schools, or a district, , can provide. As opportunities present themselves, Cedar Park Christian Schools will continue to build and expand until Seattle is a model for Christian schools around the world. We believe the need is great and the future is bright for Christian education.
