September 27, 2007 Back to School Night for secondary parents is tonight at 7 pm in the Chapel. School pictures are Friday. Please send the completed order form and payment with your student who will hand it to the photographer. Even if you're not purchasing photos, be sure to complete the form, check the "no order" box and hand it to the photographer - this is important for the yearbook organization. Box Tops contest begins Monday, October 1. September 26, 2007 Art Club is back! 1st-6th graders can sign up in the office. Art Club will meet the 1st and 3rd Monday of the month, starting October 1st. Students will meet in the E. Portable from 3:05 to 4:05 pm. This month's theme is Leaves and Harvest and the project will cost $4 per student. Parents in need of PIP hours and secondary students in need of community service hours can volunteer as assistants. Please sign up and pay in the office (limit of 20 students). The Sr. Drawing is on Oct. 16th. The prizes for which students can buy tickets are a Big Book of Sudoku Puzzles or a 1 pound box of Sees Chocolates. Tickets can be purchased on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school and during lunches on Tuesdays for only $.50 each. Secondary Back to School Night is Thursday at 7 pm in the Chapel. High School students - buy your formal tickets!! The last day to purchase tickets is October 9th. National Honors Society Induction Ceremony is Thursday at 12:30 pm. Don't forget to submit the Chess Club registration form and payment to the office. Oct. 4th is the first session. September 25, 2007 Grade checks are coming home today for all 7th -12th grade students. Parents, please review these with your student and send them back to school with your student tomorrow. They're due Wednesday at 8:30 am! Entertainment books will be on sale Wednesday for only $20. These are great Christmas gifts!! SEE YOU AT THE POLE is Wednesday morning at 8:00 am at the flag pole. Sophomore and Junior parents, PSAT testing is Wednesday, October 17th. Please send payment of $14 to the office and we'll add your student to the list. September 24, 2007 We're still in need of a PSO assistant coordinator and a Poinsettia Committee Chairperson. These roles are vital to the fundraising and volunteer efforts for CPCSE. Please contact the Mrs. Lackey (maggie.l@cedarpark.org) or Shannan Leising (tarshell@comcast.net) if you're interested. Either position will cover the entire PIP hours for the year. Secondary Pep Rally is tomorrow. Don't forget to arrive by 8:00 am on Wednesday to participate in the SEE YOU AT THE POLE event outside near the flag pole. Students will gather to pray for our school, families, our nation, etc. Be sure to start looking over the school picture order form that was sent home last week. Please complete the form, enclose cash or a check made payable to Photography by Dane, and send the envelope to school with your child on Friday, September 28th. Please remember that all students need to complete an order form whether they're ordering prints or not. These photos will go in the yearbook. We're still in need of host homes and drivers for the MS and HS Progressive Dinners on Friday, November 9th. Correction on date of the Progressive Dinners - they are scheduled for November 9th. Grade Checks for secondary students will go home Tuesday. Parents, please review the grade check (similar to a progress report) with your student, sign the bottom and return by Wednesday the 26th. Please remember that Friday is Chapel day and students must dress in Chapel Attire. You can review the dress code in your Parent/Student Handbook or online. Boys need to wear ties, dress slacks and dress shoes. Girls must be in dresses/skirts that reach the top of the knee cap or lower and wear dress shoes. Leggings cannot be worn with dresses/skirts on Chapel day. General dress code: Girls, if you wear leggings under your skirt on a non-Chapel day, the skirt must still be no higher than the top of the knee cap. Please do not wear mini skirts, even with leggings, to school! HS Formal (October 13th) tickets are on sale for $20 with an ASB card and $25 without an ASB card. The last day to purchase a ticket is October 9th. This is a semi-formal event. We will offer a Chess Class/Club to kindergarten through sixth grade students. An instructor from Chess4Life will teach the class. We will meet Thursdays from 3:00-4:15 starting October 4th. We will meet Oct. 4, 11, 25, Nov. 1, 8, 29, Dec. 6, 13 (8 sessions). Students may register in the office. The total cost for all 8 sessions is $88. A flyer/registration form is being sent home today with your student. September 19, 2007 Volleyball Results 9/18 Cedar Park Christian School, Everett Campus vs. North Sound Christian School @ North Sound 0-3, 15-25, 23-25, 10-25 Win North Sound Cedar Park Everett Record 0-2 The MS and HS Progressive Dinners have been changed to October 9th due to athletic games. Freshman leave tomorrow for camp. Please arrive on time (8:30 am) to school with all of your camp supplies ready to go! The bus will leave around 8:45 am. Yearbooks are on sale for $30 each. The deadline to purchase one of these great yearbooks is Dec. 6th. You can purchase them in the office or online at our website. Don't forget to submit pictures of your students and friends for possible use in the yearbook! Also, if you'd like to purchase an add for your business, please contact Mrs. Bouckenooghe or any of the yearbook staff. No school for seniors on Friday. Parents, please pick up your seniors at Cedar Springs Camp Thursday at 9:30 pm. Lollipops will be on sale Tuesdays and Fridays after school in the office. Proceeds benefit the Class of 2008. September 18, 2007 Eight grade families - If you're interested in attending the Washington DC trip in late March, please join us tonight for a meeting at the Bothell Campus (16300 112th Ave. NE, Bothell) at 7 pm in the Sanctuary. Sophomores and Juniors leave for the retreat tomorrow. Please arrive on time (8:30 a.m.) with your luggage/sleeping bag/pillow, etc. The MS Progressive Dinner and HS Progressive Dinner will be on October 26th. We're in need of the following volunteer help: MS - 4 drivers, 4 hosts (appetizer, dinner, dessert, etc.) HS - 3 drivers, 3 hosts (appetizer, dinner, dessert, etc.) Please contact Mrs. Lackey if you're interested - maggie.l@cedarpark.org The cost will be $2/student to cover the cost of the drivers' gas. The scores were 25/23, 11/25, 17/25, 25/21, 13/15. Come Tuesday to North Sound Christian School at 6pm to watch another exciting volleyball game. Seniors leave tomorrow for the annual HS Retreat at Cedar Springs. Please arrive on time and with your bags packed! September 14, 2007 Here is how you can submit photos online for this year's yearbook: HS Retreat forms are due today. Locks have been distributed - please remove personal locks and replace with the CPCS locks. Thanks! School picture packets are going home today - please keep them until picture day, Friday, September 28th. On that day, turn them into the photographer with your check enclosed. September 12, 2007 Elementary Back to School Night is tomorrow at 7 pm in the Chapel. This evening is designed for parents. Also, prior to Back to School Night, we will have a Chess Club meeting for those interested in joining. The meeting will start at 6:30 pm in the Chapel Middle Schoolers leave first thing tomorrow morning for their retreat! Be sure to pack according to the information sheet and bring everything with you in the morning. Get ready for a great time!! HS Retreat information is coming home with your HS student today. Hot lunch starts Monday (for those who pre-purchased). September 6, 2007 Middle School volleyball and soccer practice starts today at 3:15 and will end around 4:45 pm. Please pick up soccer players at the property in Mill Creek. PSO meeting is tonight at 7 pm in the lunchroom. See you there! September 5, 2007 Please join us tomorrow evening, Thursday, September 6, at 7pm in the lunchroom for our first PSO meeting of the year. Those interested in being a room mom or serving in any capacity with PSO events (Poinsettia sales, Auction, Fund Run, etc.) should plan to attend.
